Saying Good-bye

Tonight we said good-bye.....  Good bye to a dear friend, Lei.  We will not see her again, she is going home to China.  We were all so sad to see her go, but happy for her family.  Good bye to me is hard, but as I think about Daniel, I can't comprehend what it must be like for him.  It is hard on so many levels.  She is the first one in America that could speak both of his native languages, she is familiar.  Her face, her voice, her likes and dislikes.  We are not!  But it goes beyond this.  I can't help but think about the many, many good-byes this poor sweet 6 year old has had to endure.  First and foremost, his birth mom, not by choice.  Then the orphanage, not by choice.  Then his loving foster family (I am sure that was very traumatic), not by choice, then the orphanage and all his friends, then Shinlin, then Elvin, then our hotel, and everything he new that was familiar, and his birth country.  I cannot comprehend the magnitude of hurt in this beautiful child.  But I do know that God will restore the years that the moths have destroyed.

Besides the good-byes, things have been going dramatically better.  The boys are doing well, there is way less tattle-telling and less aggressiveness also.  There are many times throughout the day that the boys are.... get this...PLAYING WITH EACH OTHER!!!!!!  I have even caught Dong Fu yelling for Zac to play with!  My heart just leaps!!!!!  Yeah!!!  Praising God!  And thanking Him for this beautiful family He has blessed me with.  Thanking Him for the wonderful school and church our children are able to go to.  Feeling very blessed by the Lord!
