JOURNEY TO DANIEL'S FOSTER FAMILY

Today we have a trip planned to visit Daniel's foster family in their village a couple of hours away.  4 years ago Elvin and myself made the trip to their home to see where Daniel lived from ages 2 to 6.  Daniel was abandoned at 42 days old then was in the orphanage until this foster family took him in.  They are older people with their children out of the house so they were like grandparents to him but it was all he had for family in China.  At the time of my visit 4 years ago we weren't suppose to connect with them by adoption standards but God lined it all up and it was such a blessing.  Elvin translated their conversation to me and I was able to video it and capture Daniel's childhood with them the best we could.  There were many tears and laughter over stories about Daniel and the memories they shared with him.  When we became placed with him the foster family had to take him back to the orphanage one month prior to us coming to get him.   At that time he was notified of what was happening and the many changes that would be coming his way.  I used to think about that for Daniel and I couldn't imagine what would have been going through his mind.  He was taken from what he knew as family for 4 years and then back to the orphanage for a month before he was going to get picked up by us.  Well I can tell you now 4 years later that God has provided a miracle in Daniel's heart and Daniel doesn't look back on those times other than memories from his past.  Daniel is very thankful to be with us and if you know him you would understand that even more.  Back to the foster family 4 years ago.  After my visit with them we left them a gift.  To our surprise a day later they reached out to Elvin and wanted to come to our hotel with their whole family and spend one last time with Daniel.  They used the gift we left them to travel to us and they brought gifts for Daniel.  Wow that was very cool of them.  So today they get to see Daniel again which is quite the blessing and a miracle from God.  On this trip we have reconnected with Elvin and he has planned today's trip to the foster family.  He is going with us and will be our translator and guide as we don't know how to get anywhere here.  Our whole family gets to go today and see where Daniel lived for 4 years and know and understand more about his past.  It is a village way out a couple of hours from the city and is very populated and much different then living in the city.  I will post tonight or tomorrow on our journey there today.  Please pray for Daniel as he is a little nervous to go back there.  He doesn't speak Chinese anymore and that worries him some as he spoke very well in the village and was often times used to translate between Mandarin and Cantonese.
